Letter to the Editor
To all customers of HSUD, I want to know if all of you are having the same problems that I am with our utility company. I have been begging for someone to come fix the pole light in my yard since Feb. of 2024. Every time I call, they say they are writing a work order to get someone to come fix it. Sometimes they say they are putting me through to the main man who I can speak to. Instead, they send me to his voice mail where I have to leave a message that is never returned. I have paid them almost $10 a month for 21 months while not having a light. Does anyone believe that I will ever see that money again? I don’t. And why are we letting them get away with over charging us on our utility bills? My bills are normally around $175 to $250 per month during the winter. Last winter I got a $500 bill while I was cutting my heat off at night to save on my bills. I kept pneumonia most of last winter from being so cold in my house. And now I have to call constantly just to get a simple light bulb.
Despite all the talk and all the meetings, no one is going to help us. Shame on the socalled leaders who do nothing to help us.
