Letter to the Editor:
Adelaja once stated, “Giving opens new doors of God’s blessings to us.” It’s amazing how a simple act of giving by one person can spread to benefit so many others. An anonymous donor with a warm heart in Holly Springs started a campaign to give coats to needy children in the Holly Springs Head Start Center (Marjean Myatt).
He realized he had been given much and wanted to share his blessings with others, and he did. He did not stop there. He encouraged a family member to feel the joy of giving also. It all started with just one person with a warm, giving spirit wanting to make sure all children in Holly Springs were warm for the cold winter days and nights. It was a selfless act of giving without a thought of getting back that has led to many children receiving coats and clothes.
The simple act of giving, thoughtfulness, warm kindred spirit, and the reaching out of one’s self to help others will help to make many children and parents have a great Christmas.
Though I no longer work at ICS Head Start, I still find myself singing the praise of Fred Carlisle, owner/operator of Cash Saver. His simple act of kindness spreads the wings of peace, love, and kindness throughout the Holly Springs Community.
