Willie B. Mason

Willie B. Mason, 73, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Lamar, died Nov., 23, 2016, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. A retired machine operator for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, he was a member of Sand Hill MB Church in Lamar, where he was an usher.

Visitation will be  Dec. 2, 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home, with family from 6-7, and at the church, Dec. 3, from 10-10:55 a.m.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3 at Sand Hill MB Church in Lamar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Darell Mays will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangemen

He leaves his wife, Evon Hampton Mason; two daughters, Alysia Mason of Memphis, Rosalyn Mason of Olive Branch; eight sons, Willie Mason Jr., Gregory Dowdy, Michael McNamee, all of Holly Springs, Sammie Hudson of Memphis, Alonso Reliford, Roy Lee Griffin, both of Lamar, Willie Jones, Ricky Jones, both of Atlanta; three sisters, Willie Mason Gatewood of Hudsonville, Brenda C. Mason of Memphis, Genevia Perkins of East St. Louis, Ill.; eight brothers, Virgil Spight of Detroit, Mich., Walter Mason, Edward C. Mason, both of Lamar, William Mason Jr. of East St. Louis,  Ivory L. Mason of Hudsonville, C.L. Mason, Tracy Mason, James Mason, all of Memphis; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
