William Michael Horton

William Michael Horton, 79, of Indianola, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola. Mike was born July 28, 1941, in Greenville, to William Franklin Horton III and Julia Ruth Kain Horton. He attended the US Naval Academy and served in the Air National Guard. Mike married Pamela Gene Steen in 1967, and together, they made their home in Indianola. He was an accountant at SuperValu for over 30 years prior to his retirement.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Grace Taylor Tollison. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pamela Steen Horton of Indianola; two daughters, Lacy Horton Tollison (Jeff) of Holly Springs, and Michael Horton Orsak of El Campo, Texas; one sister, Beky Street (Carl) of Leland; two brothers, Bill Horton (Lisa) of Belden and Jack Horton (Linda) of Louisiana; and seven grandchildren, Lizzie Tollison, Anna Griffin Tollison, Ruthie Tollison, Aubrey Orsak, Will Orsak, Abby Orsak, and Wesley Orsak.

The family received friends Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. funeral service at First United Methodist Church in Indianola with Rev. Jeffrey Tollison officiating. Burial followed in Indianola City Cemetery in Indianola. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
