William Chester Cole

William Chester Cole, 63, of Ashland, died Sept. 10, 2019, at Michigan City. He was a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #68, where he served as a worshipful master. He was a bus driver for the Benton County School System.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 12 at Ashland High School gymnasium. Rev. Houston Evans officiated. Burial was in Samuel Chapel MB Church Cemetery in Ashland. J. F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Ann Everett Cole; three children, Stennett Walls, Joseph Hamer, Shanneth Walls, all of Ashland; seven sisters, Teresa McKay of Lamar, Sarah Hudson of Ashland, Brenda Hoyle of Ripley, Martha Hampton of Chicago, Ill., Jessie Mae Hampton and Armintra Campbell, both of Holly Springs, Evon Mason of Memphis, Tenn.; 12 brothers, Charles Cole, David Hampton, Eddie Hampton, Jerry Hampton, Sylvester Hampton, Darryl Hampton, Michael Hampton and James Cole, all of Lamar; Freddie Hampton, Robert Hampton, James Hampton, all of Holly Springs, Larry Hampton of Germantown, Maryland; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Fannie Hampton and Pearlie Jean Reaves Norwood.
