Wensie Beatice Turner Bailey

Wensie Beatrice Turner Bailey, 74, of Lamar, died March 24, 2017, at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn. An affiliate member of Kimbrough Chapel MB Church, she worked for ICS Head Start for 47 years, where she was an infant toddler family service specialist. She received a bachelor’s degree from Lemoyne-Owen College and Rust College and a master’s from the University of Mississippi.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home April 1 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. and with family from 6-7 p.m., and April 2 from 12 noon to 12:55 p.m. at the college.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 2 in the Doxey Auditorium on the Rust College campus. Burial will be in Kimbrough Chapel MB Church Cemetery in Lamar. Rev. David Gulledge will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves four sons, Aric Bailey, Vincent Turner, Jason Bailey, all of Lamar, Carl Bailey of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Ruby Nunnally of Holly Springs, Sharonna Bailey of Lakeland, Tenn.; a brother, Henry Turner of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Hattie Henderson and a brother, John W. Dowdy.
