Wash "Peter" Shipp

Wash "Peter" Shipp, 95, of Byhalia, died Feb. 1, 2020, at DeSoto Healthcare in Southaven. He was a member of Strickland United Methodist Church in Byhalia, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a former steel worker at Forge and Dye in Olive Branch.

Visitation will be held on Feb. 7 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home from 2-6 p.m.; and on Feb. 8 at Strickland United Methodist Church from 1:302:25 p.m. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Joe Richmond will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Larce Harden Shipp; five daughters, Cal (ET) Rayford, Georgia (James) Lawson and Glory (Derwin) Cobb, all of Byhalia, Catherine (Arthur) McKinney of Naperville, Ill., Curtisean (Perry) Mamon of Oswego, Ill.; three sons, Robert James Shipp of Byhalia, Wash Shipp Jr. and Russell (Darlene) Shipp, both of Aurora, Ill.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee Shipp, Murry Shipp; two sisters, Sueanna Carson and Hillie Mae Rayford.
