Walter C. Jones

Walter C. Jones, 81, of Byhalia, died Nov. 30, 2019, at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. He was a member of Chulahoma MB Church where he was in the church choir and male chorus. He was a retired machine operator for Marshall County.

Visitation will be held on Dec. 6, from 2-6 p.m. at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and on Dec. 7, from 1:30-2:25 p.m. at Chulahoma MB Church. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Lonnie Whitfield will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves four daughters, Elizabeth Jones Stevenson of Holly Springs, Constance Jones of St. Louis, Mo., Lenora Sesson and Shirley Mims, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three sons, John Walter Jones, Larry Hearn, both of St. Louis, Larry Malone of Minn.; six sisters, Mary Isabella Milan of Byhalia, Betty Moore of Rochester, N.Y., Penelope Brown and Alice Moore, both of Senatobia, Effie Moore of Olive Branch, Sharon Mays of Memphis; four brothers, Freddie Moore and Wayne Moore of Rochester, Issiah Moore of Senatobia, Joe Moore of Baltimore, Maryland; 65 grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Floyd Jones and Lynell Jones.
