Walter “Pop” Simmons

Walter “Pop” Simmons, 90, of Coldwater, died Feb. 14, 2020, at his home. He was a member of West Antioch #1 MB Church where he served as a deacon. He was a Mason and was in construction.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 22, at West Antioch #1 MB Church in Senatobia. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his daughters, Bennie Posey of Memphis, Tenn., Carolyn Abney of Senatobia, Finnie S. Lockett of Memphis, Earlene Williams of Coldwater, Linder Miller of Horn Lake, Clara Montgomery of Memphis, Yevette Stringer of Chicago, Ill.; sons, Ronnie Hunter, Solomon Hunter, and Robert Rodgers, all of Memphis, Timmy Rodgers of Byhalia, Edward Rodgers of Horn Lake, Dwayne Rodgers of Memphis, Leon Hunter of Arkabutla; sisters, Bernice Anderson and Shirley Jones, both of Memphis, Aslaeen Dean of Hernando, Orlgeen Odom, Vivian Couch, Bonnie Elmore, Gloria Bell, all of Detroit, Mich.; 32 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
