Verna Wilson Medlock

Verna Wilson Medlock, 60, of Byhalia, died Oct. 30, 2016, at her home. She was a member of Spirit of Life COGIC and a 1976 graduate of Byhalia High School. She attended Miller Hawkins Business School and Rust College.

Services were held at 12 noon on Nov. 4 at Spirit of Life COGIC in Byhalia. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Pastor Gunette Joyner Sr. officiated. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Andrew Medlock; two sons, Malachi Barrows, Matthew Barrows, both of Byhalia; her mother, Sweet Ola Dotson (Otis) of Byhalia; six brothers, John Ray Hankins (Betty Jean) of Olive Branch, Trent Lewis, Keith Hankins (Joyce), Jimmie Hankins, John L. Hankins, all of Byhalia, James Lee Hankins (Catrenia) of Olive Branch; seven sisters, Earleen Cole (Mason), Louise Whitaker (Wyatt), Patricia Wilson (Terry), Leola Ray (Dave), Della Ann Sholar, all of Memphis, Tenn., Linda Hamilton (Claude) of Olive Branch, and Katie Nunnley (Mark) of Byhalia

She was preceded in death by sisters, Annie Richmond and Virginia Hankins.
