Tyler Dunreth Carpenter

Tyler Dunreth Carpenter, 34, of West Point, MS passed away on May 13, 2021, at his home.

Tyler was born on June 7, 1986, in Columbus, MS to Paul Stephen Carpenter and Teresa Leak Carpenter. He is survived by his parents; his brother, Lucas Carpenter; and sister-in-law, Kayla Carpenter; and their two children, his beloved nephews; Levi and Kane, of Cumberland, MS.

Tyler graduated from Oak Hill Academy in 2005. He was a very loving, caring, and compassionate person. He was very artistic and full of creative ingenuity. Tyler became a knowledgeable and experienced surveyor at a very young age, but his most passionate pursuits included cooking, art, and being creative. He had superb craftsmanship in antique furniture and enjoyed engineering his own designs. Tyler conveyed a giving spirit and was always eager to lend a helping hand to others. Tyler was very loved by his family and close friends.

Tyler is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Joseph Leak, Dorothy Cole Leak, Irby Watkins Carpenter, and Beth Lafever Carpenter; and his brother, Cary Duane Carpenter.

Graveside service was held on Monday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at a private family cemetery in Lamar, MS, for family and friends, with Bro. Steven Jessen officiating. The Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge.

Pallbearers were Lucas Carpenter, Chad Fitch, Tripp and Casey McCullar, Nolan Fulcher, and Wayne Carpenter with honorary pallbearer, Joseph Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
