Sylvester Wayne Rooks

Sylvester Wayne Rooks, 60, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 13, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS in Oxford. He was a member of Powell Chapel MB Church in Holly Springs where he served as a church deacon and was in the male chorus. He was an electrician for Carrier Inc.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Nov. 22 from 1-3:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 23 at Powell Chapel MB Church Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Walker will officiate.

He leaves three children, Marcus Rooks, Michelle Rooks, Erica McCary, all of Holly Springs; a sister, Brenda Stinson of Holly Springs; five brothers, Joe Rooks, Walter Rooks, both of Holly Springs; Freddie Rooks of Clermont, Fla, James Rooks of LaFayette, La., Robert Rooks of St. Paul, Minn.; and seven grandchildren.
