Sylvester Kilgore Sr.

Sylvester Kilgore Sr., 71, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 27, 2020, at Methodist Healthcare in Olive Branch. He was a graduate of Pontotoc Attendance Center, and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rust College. He was retired from John J. Campbell Roofing Company.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 1 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Rev. Douglas Williams and Rev. Henry R. Kimmons officiated. Burial was in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Algoma. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Marvia; two sons, Sylvester Kilgore Jr. (Shonta) of Victoria, Marvis Kilgore (Doha) of Qatar, Saudi Arabia; two daughters, Julia Jackson of Holly Springs, Kristel Smith of Marietta, Ga.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Classie.
