Sylvester Byers

Sylvester Byers, 60, of Holly Springs, died July 24, 2021, at his home. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps, a law enforcement officer with the City of Holly Springs, and worked with Utley Realty. He was a member of Bell Grove MB Church in Chulahoma where he served as a deacon.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on July 31 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Terrance Pittman Sr. officiated. Burial was in Bell Grove MB Church Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Claudia Elaine Byers; daughter, Catrice Byers; stepdaughters, Jasmine Manning, Sparkle Manning; six sisters, Georgia King, Bernice Walton (Lawrence), Sheryl Pegues, Gwendolyn Haten, Loretta Brim, Ruby Poole (Melvin); six brothers, Charles Byers, Bernie Byers (Paula), Jerry Byers (Ann), Bernard Byers, Jerry Shaw (Mary), Randy Shaw; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Byers; and mother, Josephine Byers.
