Susan Elaine Boone Jordan

Susan Elaine Boone Jordan of Holly Springs, Miss., died Saturday morning at her home. She was 69 years old.

Born May 24, 1949, to the late Bertie Jewel Tomlinson Boone and Thomas Marcus Boone Jr., Susan graduated from Mississippi College. She was the executive director of the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce before her retirement.

Susan married the late Kelly Jordan in 1973, and they enjoyed 43 years of marriage until Kelly's death in 2016.

Susan will be laid to rest in a private burial beside Kelly in the Ashland Cemetery. She leaves her son, Russell Barton Jordan of Hernando, and her daughter, Catherine Elise Jordan of New York City. She is survived by her sisters, Kathy Boone Woods of Holly Springs; Ellen Boone Ferrell (Keith) of Hernando, Miss.; and her brother, Marc Boone (Dawn) of Madison, Miss. Her loyal Wirehaired Fox Terrier Sophie passed away at age fourteen last year.

She is mourned by son-in law Mike Fahey Hogan of New York City; her daughter-in-law, Hillary Phillips Jordan; and her beloved grandchildren, Ann Phillips Jordan, Thomas Boyce Jordan, and Ellse Barton Jordan, all of Hernando, Miss.; and nephews, Reid Carpenter of Red Bay, Ala., Nicholas Carpenter of Guntersville, Ala.; and niece Olivia Boone of Madison, Miss.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 19, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Holly Springs Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service on Wednesday, March 20 at 11 a.m., also at the Holly Springs Funeral Home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory can be sent to the Beds for Kids program, which provides beds for needy children. They can be addressed to Family Resource Center of North Mississippi, Attn: Beds for Kids, at 425 Magazine Street, Tupelo, MS 38804.
