Sidney Tyrone Sims

Sidney Tyrone Sims, 65, of Holly Springs, died July 22, 2019, at his home. He was a member of Yarbrough Chapel CME Church and a graduate of Holly Springs High School. He was a retired custodian for the Holly Springs School District.

Visitation will be held Aug. 1 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home from 2-6:30 p.m. and with the family from 5:30-6:30 p.m.; and Aug. 2 at Yarbrough Chapel CME Church from 10-10:55 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. Bobby T. Sims will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves three daughters, Tiesha Rayford of Byhalia, LaTwanya Stone of Holly Springs, Shamé Jackson of Cordova, Tenn.; two sons, Victor Buffington of Fayetteville, N.C., Cortney Sims of Holly Springs; six sisters, Jacqueline Falkner, Juanita Barksdale, Shirley Peyton, all of Holly Springs, Terry Smith of Aurora, Ill., Bennette Norrington of Kansas City, Kansas, Patris Garrett of Memphis, Tenn.; six brothers, Edward Sims, Freddie Sims, Bobby Sims, Fred Bell, Kennedy Sims and Carl Sims, all of Holly Springs; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward D. Sims; his mother, Lizzie B. Sims Davis; two brothers, Maurice Sims and Sidney Robert Sims.
