Sidney Rivers Ayres, 96, of Hickory Flat, died March 21, 2019, at Baptist Hospital in New Albany. The widower of Elsie Keen Ayres he was a member of the United Methodist Church, Hickory Flat, a farmer and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 25 at the United Methodist Church, Hickory Flat. Burial was in McKay Cemetery in Hickory Flat. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his son, Sid Ayres (Karr) of Hickory Flat; a daughter, Deborah Ayres Autry of New Albany; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laney Ayres.
