Shirley Jones Mayfield

Shirley Jones Mayfield, 72, of Holly Springs, died August 17, 2024, at her home. She was a member of Strawberry MB Church and Jones Grove MB Church. She sang in the choir and served as youth Sunday school teacher. She was a retired domestic worker in private homes.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Aug. 23 from 3-6 p.m. and on Aug. 24 at Strawberry MB Church from 2-2:55 p.m. with services at 3 p.m. Rev. John Powell will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

She leaves her husband, James Franklin Mayfield Sr.; daughters, Carolyn Mayfield, Kim Mayfield, both of Holly Springs, Cynthia Jones Rucker of Kansas City, Mo.; sons, James F. Mayfield Jr. of Holly Springs, Devin Jones of Kansas City; sisters, Anna Jones, Deborah Jones, both of Holly Springs, Lois Jones, Queen Drake, both of Sprinfield, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Howell; siblings, Robert Jones, James Jones, Helen McKinney, Dorothy Bonds and Edgar Jones Jr.
