Shirley Jean Porter Pointer

Shirley Jean Porter Pointer, 73, of Holly Springs, died March 31, 2020, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch. She was a member of Bible Way Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a graduate of Rust College and W.T. Sims High School and was a former dorm counselor at Rust.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on April 5 at Baptist Hill MB Church Cemetery in the Bethlehem community, Potts Camp. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Larry Donnell Pointer; one daughter, Sheron Finley of Buffalo, New York; two sons, Larry Derrell Porter of Columbus, Ohio, Eric Porter of Southaven; three sisters, Louise Taylor and Dorothy Grayson, both of Potts Camp, Wanda Isom of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, A.C. Porter of Arlington, Tenn.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Beulah Mae Powers, Mary Edna Brown, Berniece Jones, Agnes Grayson, Bernell Porter, and Artie Calvin Porter.
