Royster Mitchell Sr.

Royster Mitchell Sr., 95, of Laws Hill, died August 17, 2023, at his home. He was a member of Mt. Peel MB Church and worked for the U.S. Forestry Service.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on August 25 from 2-5:30 p.m. and on August 26 at Mt. Peel MB Church from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Rev. Rondias Cox will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves a daughter, Addie Parker of Rochester, NY; sons, Royster Mitchell Jr., Bennard Mitchell, Eugene Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, all of Holly Springs, Alvis Mitchell of Rochester; sister, Minnie Pearl Mitchell of Senatobia; 43 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lizzie Mae Mitchell; siblings, Olivia Byers, Gladys Mitchell, Willie Alfred Mitchell and John Mitchell.
