Roy Hughes, 48, of Holly Springs, died February 16, 2022, at Baptist Memorial HospitalNorth Mississippi in Oxford. He was a member of Chulahoma MB Church and was in construction until his health failed.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 27 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Josephine Cunningham officiated. Burial was in Chulahoma MB Church Cemetery.

He leaves a son, Artavies Lesueur of Memphis, Tenn.; father, Jessie James Hughes Jr. of Waterford; three sisters, Joice Ann Pegues (Fred), Teresa Davis (Ray) of Oxford, Lagretta Jordan of Tupelo; five brothers, Anthony Hughes (Teresa), Michael Hughes (Felicia), Andre Hughes, Antonio Hughes, and Jessie Edwards Hughes, all of Holly Springs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joice Hughes; grandparents, Ester T. and Loretha Davis, Jessie James Hughes Sr. and Mary Collins.
