Roy Chester McKay, 68, of Potts Camp, died April 25, 2025, at his home. He was a member of Samuel Chapel MB Church in Ashland and a farmer.

Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on May 9 from 4-6 p.m. with services on May 10 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Deveren Clayton McKay; son, Hurshel Clayton (Cameshia) of Holly Springs; daughters, Markeisha Rooks of Corinth, Jessica Clayton, Deanna Clayton, both of Holly Springs; brothers, John Andrew McKay (Dorothy) of Potts Camp, Lafayette McKay of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Rosie McKay of Memphis, Clara McKay (Harry Wilkins) of Holly Springs, Aretha Worthy (Alfred L.) of Olive Branch; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie McKay Sr. and Laura Tucker McKay; brothers, Freddie McKay Jr., Cornelius McKay; sisters, Clara Louise Dortch and Roebirdia Tucker.
