Roosevelt Galloway Sr.

Roosevelt Galloway Sr., 83, of Holly Springs, died July 23, 2025, at his home. He was a member of St. Mark MB Church where he served as head deacon, and was lead singer in the church choir. He sang with The Silver Stars gospel group and was a member of Powell Chapel Masonic Lodge. He was a forestry crew chief with the Mississippi Forestry Commission.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on August 1 from 3:30-6 p.m. and on Aug. 2 at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries from 9-9:55 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Rev. Patrick Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

He leaves his wife, Martha B. Wilkins Galloway; daughters, Doris A. Vinson, Ora Mae Hubbard, Dorothy Vinson, all of Holly Springs; sons, Roosevelt Galloway Jr. of Holly Springs, James A. Wilkins Sr. of Olive Branch; nine grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, J.T. Burgess, L.C. White, Lloyd Galloway, Katie Mayfield, Mattie Delbridge, Olia Martin and Rosie Glover.
