Ricky Joe Bates

Ricky Joe Bates Sr., 54, of Byhalia, died Dec. 8, 2018, at his home. He was a truck driver.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home-Senatobia Chapel is in charge of arrangements. He leaves his wife, Dee Anne Bates; one daughter, Beth Bates Sheaffer (Micheal) of Lebanon, Tenn.; two sons, Ricky Joe Bates Jr. of Gladwin, Mich., and Jon David Bates (Lisa Marie) of Old Hickory, Tenn.; one sister, Debora Rhoades of Nesbit; three brothers, Mark Edison Bates of Bartlett, Tenn., Lowell Scott Bates of Collierville, Tenn., and Jonathan Andrew Bates of Oakland, Tenn., and eight grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Parrish Bates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
