Richard James Franklin Jr.

Richard James Franklin Jr., 58, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Michigan City, died Oct. 28, 2019, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. The widower of Vickie Nelson Franklin, he was a member of Sims Chapel MB Church in Michigan City. He was a disabled former truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, at Sims Chapel MB Church. Rev. Kietron Mormon officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves five sisters, Patricia Allen and Bulah "Bonnie" Woodard of Olive Branch, Carlene "Carolyn" Franklin of Memphis, Belinda Foster of Holly Springs, Rhonda Mabone of Collierville, Tenn.; four brothers, Jerry Franklin of Michigan City, Barry Franklin, James Richard Franklin, Billy Bateman, all of Memphis; an uncle with whom he lived with, Willie Franklin of Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard James Franklin Sr., and his mother, Betty Luellen Franklin.
