Rev. Oscier Ben "O.B." Boothe

Rev. Oscier Ben "O.B." Boothe, 104, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Waterford, died Nov. 2, 2019, at Harbor View Nursing and Rehab in Memphis. The widower of Malar Evans Boothe, he was a member of Hamilton Chapel CME Church in Waterford. He was a retired CME minister, accepting his call to preaching in 1937, a graduate of Mississippi Industrial College, and taught in the DeSoto County School System. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Visitation will be held Nov. 8, from 2-6 p.m. at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and Nov. 9, from 9-9:55 a.m. at Greenwood CME Church, 3311 Kimball Ave., Memphis. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Bishop Thomas L. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis.

He leaves a daughter, Charlene Boothe Hicks of Kansas City, Kansas; caregivers, granddaughters, Rosalind Boothe Harrison of Memphis, Artegia Taylor of Olive Branch, and grandson, Lambert Boothe McDaniel of Memphis; 13 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Boothe.
