Rev. Mitchell Green Modest

Rev. Mitchell Green Modest, 63, of Byhalia, formerly of Ruston, La., died March 13, 2022, at his home. He was a clergy in residence at Trinity CME Church in Memphis, Tenn., and director of Information Technology at ICS Head Start.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on March 20 from 3-6 p.m. and at Trinity CME Church, 1096 Thomas Street, Memphis, on March 21 from 12-12:55 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Rev. Leroy James will give the eulogy and Bishop Henry M. Williamson Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peters MB Church Cemetery in Ruston.

He leaves his wife, Rev. Denise Anders-Modest; sister, Debra Modest Melton of Ruston; brothers, James Bernard Modest, Johnny R. Modest, Bruce Modest, all of Ruston, and Donny H. Modest of Grambling, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell Jr. and Rosie Modest; siblings, Gloria, Jimmy, Bertha and Samuel Modest and Catherine Barber.
