Rev. Joseph Lex Stone Sr.

Rev. Joseph Lex Stone Sr., 79, of Holly Springs, died January 17, 2019, at Alliance HealthCare System. He was a retired school principal from the Holly Springs School District, member of Asbury United Methodist Church, retired pastor of St. Paul U.M. Church and Moses Chapel U.M. Church in Ripley, a graduate of Rust College, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, a graduate of Memphis Theological Seminary, had a Master's degree in Divinity, a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be held on January 24 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home, 1-4 p.m.; visit with family at Asbury U.M. Church from 5-7 p.m.; and on January 25 from 12-12:55 p.m. at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries with services at 1 p.m. Rev. Joseph L. Stone Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

He leaves his wife Rose Griffin Stone; two daughters, Cassandra Ann Stone of Milwaukee, Wis., Nadia Temeka Stone of Holly Springs; one son, Rev. Joseph Lex Stone Jr. of Starkville; three special sons, Carlos Isom Sr. of Holly Springs, Ron Martin of Southaven, James Lockette of Aberdeen; eight sisters, Berta Duck (Floyd), Joyce McNair, Brenda Crosby, Lou Holman, all of Erie, Pa., Charity Livingston and Cora Smoot, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; Katrina Williams of Bronx, NY; Deborah Johnson (Edward) of Palm Bay, Fla.; four brothers, Willie Williams of San Francisco, Calif., James Williams (Rose) and Charlie Williams, both of Erie, George Williams of Clinton, Mass.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
