Rev. Alvin Benny Tate

Rev. Alvin Benny Tate, 60, of Olive Branch, died Dec. 9, 2018, at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, Tenn. He was an associate minister at New Haliburton MB Church, a member of the male chorus and men's ministry, a Sunday school teacher, and was a tax consultant. He was a disabled coil foreman for Carrier Corporation.

Visitation will be held on Dec. 14, from 2-7 p.m. at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home and on Dec. 15 from 1:30-2:25 p.m. at New Haliburton MB Church with services at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Steve Dodson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Earline Tallie Tate; a son, Alvin Benjamin Tate of Olive Branch; a brother, Frank Tate Jr. of Little Rock, Ark.; eight sisters, Mary Abrams and Alice B. Tate of Little Rock, Sammie Dixon of Toledo, Ohio, Edna Robinson of Aurora, Colo., Bertha Gayles of Oakland, Calif., Linda Buffington of Crossett, Ark., Alma Calhoun of North Little Rock, and Sylvia Thomas of Jacksonville, Ark.

He was preceded death by a sister, Marcia Tate.
