Ponse DeMarvin “Duley” Jones

Ponse DeMarvin “Duley” Jones, 79, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died May 18, 2017, at Loretto Hospital in Chicago. He was a former member of Isom Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs, and a member of Christian Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago. He worked at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., at Harder’s Welding Company and retired from Paasche Airbrush Company in Chicago. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on May 28, at Isom Chapel CME Church. Rev. Michael Adams officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Saddy Jones of Dolton, Ill.; a daughter, Dorothy Jones of Indianapolis, Ind.; a step-daughter, Merri Nobles of South Holland, Ill.; two step-sons, Clennon Snow and L.C. Snow Jr. of Chicago; four sisters, Lenora Dortch of Memphis, Gladys Snow of Indianapolis, Luria Smith of DeSoto, Texas, Pinkie Nunnally of Holly Springs; two brothers, J.T. Jones and Mark Jones of Holly Springs; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank D., Ossie Lee, Clenton and Joseph Jones.
