Penny Levonne Batts McKnight

Penny Levonne Batts McKnight, 52, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Michigan City, died Dec. 15, 2016, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. She was a security guard at Phelps Security, Inc.

Visitation will be Dec. 22 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home and Dec. 23, from 10-10:55 a.m. at the church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Dec. 23 at Union Hill MB Church in Michigan City, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. James Morgan will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, John Hunt of Memphis; three daughters, Geanita Traylor of Michigan City, Cassandra Hunt, Melissa Hunt, both of Memphis; a stepson, Brandon Brown of Memphis; eight sisters, Frankie Turner, Evonne Murden, both of Michigan City, Pollie Morgan of Ashland, Ethelene Batts of Memphis, Cassie L. Batts of Chicago, Ill., Mollie Dukes of Pascagoula, Vanessa Gray of Jackson, Tenn., Gracie Coley of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Jim Batts Jr. of Marianna, Ark.; and 14 grandchildren.
