Pearlie Mae Preston Washington

Pearlie Mae Preston Washington, 84, of Ashland, died August 2, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto in Southaven. She was a member of Geenwood MB Church where she served on the mother board and was a church usher. She was a homemaker.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Aug. 9 from 4-6 p.m. and on Aug. 10 at Greenwood MB Church from 1111:55 a.m. with services at 12 noon. Rev. Marcus Poplar, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She leaves her husband, James Washington Jr.; daughters, Carolyn Elaine Hampton, Sandra Marie Bowen, both of Ashland, Annette Seldon, Sharon Denise Franklin, both of Holly Springs; sons, Dwayne Shundell Washington, Kelvin Tywon Washington both of Olive Branch; sisters, Hazel Stigger of Michigan City, Evelyn Brown of Detroit, Mich.; 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Donald L. Washington, James L. Washington, Leeandrew Washington; siblings, Dorothy Rucker, Henry Preston, Hardy Preston, Derry Preston and Cedric Preston.
