Ovell Jones Howell

Ovell Jones Howell, 80, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 16, 2020. The widow of Hollis Howell Sr., she was a member of Shady Grove CME Church in Chulahoma. She was a caregiver.

Services were held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Byhalia. Burial was at Shady Grove CME Church Cemetery. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, Hollis Howell (Stacey) of Ackworth, Ga.; five daughters, Patricia Jamison (Samuel) of Olive Branch, Dr. Lilly P. Holt of Austin, Texas, Gwendolyn Moore (Alfred Sr.) of Byhalia, Cynthia M. Rivers (AJ) of Marietta, Ga., Pamela Brunson of Holly Springs; a half-sister, Betsy Howell of Chicago, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five siblings, Zealah Moore, Lucy Norman, Virgin Jones, Elbe Jones, Birch Jones Sr.; three grandchildren, Corey, Ashley Monique, and Alfred Jr.
