Otto Michael Camurati III

Otto Michael Camurati III, 70, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 7, 2019, after a lengthy illness. He graduated from Holy Rosary School and Christian Brothers High School before attending Memphis State University. He retired after 40 years from the City of Memphis, Tenn., serving as administrator of the Public Works Department. He was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and an integral part of the Memphis Italian Festival. He was past president of UNICO, an Italian-American service organization.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 12 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Gerri; two daughters, Amelia Camurati and Kelli (Barry) Turner.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Bishop Houck New Hope Village at St. Joseph's Church or the Marshall Academy Capital Campaign.

Othell Echols Pool-Falkner

Othell Echols Pool-Falkner, 81, of Byhalia, died Feb. 9, 2019, at her home in the Marianna community. The widow of Clarence Falkner, she was a member of Chulahoma MB Church and a homemaker.

Visitation will be held on Feb. 15, from 2-6 p.m., and Feb. 16, from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Chulahoma MB Church Cemetery. Rev. Danny Kimbrough will officiate.

She leaves two daughters, Beverly Watson of Aurora, Ill., Mary Pool of Byhalia; seven sons, Lawrence Pool, Terry L. Pool, both of Byhalia, Lee Willie Pool of Hanover, Ill., Maurice Pool and Charles Pool, both of Aurora, Charles Pool of Yorkville, Ill., Melvin Pool of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a stepson, Danny Pool of Holly Springs; five stepdaughters, Virginia Pool and Constance Robinson of Atlanta, Ga., Barbara Ann Pool of Holly Springs, Angelia Joy and Verlene Neal, both of Memphis, Tenn; one sister, Lena Falkner of Holly Springs; one brother, Emmon "E.C." Echols of Memphis; 24 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Humphrey, Corrine Echols, Ismar Beard, Louise Davis, Mattie Sellers; brothers, Johnny Echols, T.C. Echols, Booker T. Echols, Conwell Echols and James Curtis Echols.
