Oscar Earl "Shine" Wells

Oscar Earl "Shine" Wells, 73, of Holly Springs, died January 27, 2025, at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Pleasant Grove MB Church in Red Banks. He was formerly employed at Team Waste and a driver for Ready Mix Concrete.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his daughters, Angela Newsom of Voorhees, NJ, Lazandra Lachetta Wells of Holly Springs, Yakira Penilton (Brian) of Olive Branch; brothers, James King Jr. of Holly Springs, Quincy Todd (Emma) of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Frankie Bell of Holly Springs, Christine Davis of Byhalia, Jeanette Barksdale (Dean), Thais Manning (Anthony), both of Holly Springs; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Judge-Wells; brothers, Oscar D. Watson, Louis Lincoln Watson, Vercie Sumlar; sisters, Lue City Echols, Hattie Watson, Anna Mae Watson, Julia Ann Faulkner, Silva Davis and Leonia Wilson.
