Odie B. Jenkins

Odie B. Jenkins, 79, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died Dec. 6, 2017, at his home. He was a retired truck driver.

Visitation will be Dec. 15 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home, and on Dec. 16 from 10-10:55 a.m. at the gym.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 16 at the Potts Camp High School gym, with burial in Mt. Ollie MB Church Cemetery in Potts Camp. Minister Eddie Barnes will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Betty C. Jenkins of Potts Camp; two daughters, Valencia Jenkins of Potts Camp, Linda Barnes of Gary, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Lela Jenkins, Kenyotta Jenkins, both of Potts Camp; five sons, Clark Jenkins of Gary, Rodney Jenkins, Tony Jenkins, Danny Jenkins, all of Memphis, Mario Jenkins of Hattiesburg; a stepson, Traumell Horton of Gary; three sisters, Bessie Ellis, Coretta Patrick, both of Gary, Valena Chavis of Berkeley, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Odie Jenkins Jr.; three sisters, Senalla Abner, Bonita Moore, Nina Chavis; and two brothers, Asville Jenkins and Fred L. Jenkins.
