Michael C. Ward, 70, of Pontotoc, died April 12, 2021, in Tupelo. He was a grantwriter and community development organizer.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Kathy Ward; daughters, Cheryl Ward Burkey of Fort Smith, Ark., Heather Ward of Pearl, Helen Ward of Meadville, Pa.; stepchildren, Kammy Woxen, Kevin Sherman II, Odesta Jordan, Amber Dowdy, Daniel Roberts; sister, Rebecca Ward Doherty of Holly Springs; and 12 grandchildren.
Family requests that memorial donations be made to the Delta Blues Museum https://www.deltabluesmuseum.org/ or 1 Blues Alley, Clarksdale, MS 38614, with the notation "In memory of Mike Ward" on the memo line of checks.
