Mattie Mae Brooks Malone

Mattie Mae Brooks Malone, 90, of Holly Springs, died Oct. 14, 2019, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch. The widow of Hudson Malone, she was a member of New Hope CME Church where she served as church missionary and a choir member. She was a retired teacher at ICS Headstart.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 18 at Anderson Chapel CME Church. Pastor Doris Alexander officiated. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves five daughters, Mary Lester, Annie Martin, Lola Malone of Holly Springs, Christine Sandridge of Coldwater, Jewel Smith of Cleveland; four sons, Freddie Malone, Carl Malone, Timothy Malone, Chelcey Malone, all of Holly Springs; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Isaac Malone.
