Mattie Louise Shipp, 74, of Byhalia, died March 4, 2024, at her home. She was a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church in Victoria and in home health care.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 13 at Taylor Chapel UM Church. Pastor Keith Mason officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her sisters, Bessie D. Ellis, Mary L. Young, both of Byhalia, Susie P. Brown of Victoria, Rubie L. Newsom of Riverdale, Ill.; brother, David Shipp of Memphis, Tenn.; and her niece and caregiver, Melissa Bowles of Byhalia.
She was preceded in death by her siblings O.B. Shipp, Harry Lee Shipp, L.D. Shipp, Leaner Mae Shipp, Annie B. Shipp, and Katie B. Shipp.
