Mary McVay

Mary McVay, 87, of Byhalia, died Oct. 24, 2019. The widow of Robert McVay, she was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 27, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery.

She leaves three sons, Gary Newsom (Gale) of Byhalia, Cary Newsom (Peggi) of Marion, Ark., Jerry Newsom of Byhalia; five daughters, Dianne Geeslin (Robert) of Olive Branch, Patty McKnatt (Jackie) of Crenshaw, Tamee McClure (Russell) of Olive Branch, Roxanne Turner (Joey) of Hickory, N.C., Mary Ann McVay of Byhalia; one brother, Gene Shackelford of Postelle, Ark., one sister, Joyce Baker of Williston, Tenn.; 35 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Newsom and Jeffery Newsom.
