Mary Louise Hampton Gorman

Mary Louise Hampton Gorman, 74, of Michigan City, died Jan. 4, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Concord MB Church in Slayden where she was a member of the church's mother board and former choir member. She was a disabled factory worker at Sunbeam.

Visitation will be held on Jan. 10 from 28:30 p.m., with family from 7:30-8:30 p.m., at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and Jan. 11 at Concord MB Church, from 10-10:55 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. Clyde Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemeter y.

She leaves her husband, Clarence "Stick" Gorman; two daughters, Doris Jones of Horn Lake, Paula Gross of Memphis; four sons, Anthony Gorman of Concord, N.C., Gene Gorman and Linn Gorman, both of Memphis, Clarence Gorman of Ashland; eight sisters, Hellon Crowley of Columbia, Tenn., Eddie Bell Hampton, Joyce Brittman, Bobby Hampton, all of Lamar, Doris Woodard, Alberta Terry, Odesser Jackson, all of Michigan City, Betty Newsom of Holly Springs; two brothers, Calvin Hampton, Terry Hampton, both of Lamar; 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Gorman; and a brother, Walter James Hampton.
