Mary Jean Butler (née House), 87, of Waterford, died July 28, 2022, in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where she volunteered in the Awana Youth Ministry, Woman’s Missionary Union and the church choir. She was retired from St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
Services were held at 1 p.m. On August 1 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Waterford.
She leaves two daughter, Ann Butler Stavropoulos, Emily Butler Groce, both of Memphis; son, Claude Wayne Butler of Acworth, Ga.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Joe; and a son, Walter Glenn.
