Mary Fortner, 93, of Tupelo, died Jan. 28, 2020, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. The widow of Thomas O. Fortner Sr., she was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church and a seamstress.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 30, at Blue Springs Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves four daughters, Judy McMullen (Thomas) of Ashland, Sandra Hammond (Ray) of Lufkin, Texas, Mary Sue Tudor (Rick) of Saltillo, Gloria Sipes of Ashland; one sister Jean Tidwell of Ashland; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas O. Fortner Jr.; and a daughter, Beverly Burns.
