Mary C. "Molly"McClatchy

Mary C. "Molly" McClatchy, 36, of Southaven, passed away unexpectedly April 28, 2019. She was born September 30, 1982, in Memphis, Tenn.

Molly's smile could light up a room and her sweet spirit touched many lives. She had a unique ability to connect with people who were struggling or in need and she would do everything in her power to brighten their day or make a difference in their lives. Her love for two young cancer patients at St. Jude Hospital fueled her to train for the St. Jude Marathon. In one's honor and the other's memory, Molly continued to run and in 2016 qualified and ran in the Boston Marathon. She loved family and enjoyed time spent with them. She loved animals, especially her two cats. Growing up, Molly lived in Holly Springs, Corinth, Tupelo and Germantown, Tenn. She attended Northeast MS Community College and received her BA Degree from the University of Mississippi in 2006.

Molly is survived by her parents, Sam and Marty McClatchy of Slayden; one brother, Sam P. McClatchy III of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one sister, Katherine Boerner (Michael) of Jackson, Miss.; her niece and nephew, Charlotte Boerner and William Boerner, both of whom she adored. Molly is also survived by her grandmother, Martha Carlisle of Holly Springs, as well as, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, with the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Holly Springs. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
