Martha Bridges Howard

Martha Bridges Howard, 71, of Holly Springs, died July 6, 2020, at her home. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a graduate of Rust College, and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. She was a retired director of counseling and testing at Rust College.

Visitation will be held at Asbury United Methodist Chuch on July 9 from 5-7 p.m.; on July 10 from 2-5 p.m. at Carter's Funeral Services in Columbus. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on July 11 at Oakland MB Church Cemetery in Crawford. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home and Carter's Funeral Services are in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband Ralph Howard; two daughters, Melissa Phillips of Nashville, Tenn., Kimberly Nevels of Holly Springs; three sisters, Bettye Phillips, Mary Dixon both of Crawford, Debbie Brown of Orlando, Fla.; three brothers, Johnson Bridges Jr., Walter Bridges, both of Crawford, Danny Bridges of Columbus; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Bridges and Freddie Bridges.

Family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Rust College for Memorial Scholarship Fund in her honor.
