Marion Slate Howery

Marion Slate Howery, 88, of Lamar, died March 17, 2017, at her home. She was a member of New Life Christian Center in Ashland and a member of the Mother Board. She was a former member of Hebron MB Church where she served on the Mother Board. The widow of Prince Howery, she was a homemaker.

Visitation will be held on March 24, 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home and on March 25 from 10-10:55 a.m. at the church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on March 25 at Foundation of Life Christian Learning Center in Lamar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Franklin will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves two sons, Lenton Howery of Joplin, Mo., Mark Howery of Holly Springs; three daughters, Mary Daugherty of Collierville, Tenn., Barbara Howery of Lamar, Jackie Howery of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Ouima Murray of Vicksburg, Annie Mathis Norphlet of Oxford, Faye Slate Turner of Florissant, Mo.; a brother, Rosco Slate of Oxford; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
