Marilyn Jean Hairston

Marilyn Jean Hairston, 65, of Corinth, formerly of Oxford, died November 21, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was a member of Hebron MB Church in Lamar where she served on the Women's Ministry board. She was an administrative assistant in the District Attorney's Office in Alcorn County.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Nov. 26 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. and on Nov. 27 at Hebron Chapel MB Church from 12-12:55 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Minister Marquez Washington will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She leaves a daughter, Shannon Washington of Olive Branch; sons, Xavier Johnson of Pine Bluff, Ark., Vincent Johnson of Manhattan, Kan., John LeGrand Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; parents, Cornelious and Mary Lynn Hairston of Oxford; sisters, Phyllis Wallace of Bakersfield, Calif., Vicki Robinson of Boyds, Md.; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Hairston.
