Margaret Anne Seale Barruel

Margaret Anne Seale Barruel of Holly Springs, Mississippi, died peacefully on January 13, 2021. She was born November 4, 1934, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and was the daughter of William Hansel Seale Sr. and Jean Chapman Seale.

Mrs. Barruel graduated from Holly Springs High School with Honors, and attended the Mississippi University for Women. She began her career at the University Club of Memphis as Social Secretary and later worked as Social Secretary for The Summit Club. Mrs. Barruel continued her career as Catering Sales Manager for The Peabody Hotel when the historic hotel reopened in 1981. She later moved to Litchfield, South Carolina, and worked as Social Secretary and Director of Public Relations at the Litchfield Country Club and Resort. Upon her return to Memphis, Mrs. Barruel worked at Hilton Hotels as Catering Sales Manager.

Mrs. Barruel was devoted to her family, friends, faith and community. A life-long member of Christ Episcopal Church in Holly Springs, she served as Altar Guild Chairman and lay person and was a past member of the Choir, ECW and Vestry. She was a member and past president of the Holly Springs Garden Club.

Full of life and fun, Mrs. Barruel loved well and lived well. She was happiest in the company of her friends and family and always had a story to tell. Her kindness knew no bounds and her graciousness towards everyone she knew was steadfast.

Mrs. Barruel was preceeded in death by her husband, Norbert Jean-Paul Barruel, who was the manager of the University Club of Memphis for many years, and her brothers, William Hansel Seale Jr., and Ben Williamson Seale Sr. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Robin Seale; nieces, Katy Seale Barbour and Margaret Hamilton Seale; nephews, Dr. Ben Williamson Seale Jr. (Ann), Andrew McDade Seale and Bradford Seale; stepson, Robert Barruel; stepdaughter, Mimi B. Shultz (Kent); and step-granddaughter, Kelsey Shultz.

Graveside services celebrating her life and legacy were held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Christ Episcopal Church in Holly Springs. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
