Maomi Ruth Lester Phillips

Maomi Ruth Lester Phillips, 87, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Holly Springs, died January 26, 2022, at her home. She was a seamstress at Clean Uniform Company in St. Louis.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 1 at Yarbrough Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Rev. Joe T. Lester officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, Melvin V. Phillips of St. Louis; sisters, Mattie Stitts of Memphis, Tenn., Sarah Pryor of Aurora, Ill.; brothers, Joe T. Lester, Turner Lester, Enoch Lester, all of Holly Springs; two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Naomi King, Bernice Lloyd, Rubie DeBerry; brothers, Noah Lester, Lloyd Lester and Freddie Lester.
