Major Bobby Seal Harris Sr.

Major Bobby Seal Harris Sr., 59, of Holly Springs, died May 29, 2017, at his home. A jail administrator for 24 years at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, he was a member of the deacon board and a former member of the Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be June 2 from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home, and at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building on June 3 from 12 noon to 12:55 p.m.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on June 3 at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Burial will be in Smith Grove MB Church Cemetery. Rev. Michael Gordon will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Helen Joyce Coppage Harris; three children, Mitchell Bernard Harris of Batesville, Chevonne Latrece Crockette of Oxford, Bobby Seal Harris Jr. of Holly Springs; five sisters, Bobbie Jean Cox, Bobbie Ann Harris, both of Sandusky, Ohio, Edna Earl Woods, Theresa Jean Mosley, both of Holly Springs, Kajavia Lynette Harmon of Oxford; four brothers, Wavor T. Harris of Holly Springs, Wallace Donnell Harris of Abbeville, Travis Harris of Memphis, Tenn., John Hubert Harris of Hickory Flat; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Luceal Buford, Gloria Newson; and his parents, John T. Harris and Bessie Elizabeth King Harris.
